This book is very useful if you're looking for copyright free images of men to use for collage, cardmaking, etc, from the fantastic Jim Harter. I own quite a few books by him now, and they're all extremely useful to me as a collage artist. This book (along with the others) are well presented, the images are well spaced if you wish to cut them out, or scan them and cut around the image digitally. They scan well, and have just the right amount of detail. I find some books like this, the reproductions aren't very good so you can't get a good scan or photocopy from them, but everything I've found from Jim Harter has been excellent thus far. The size of this book is just right, not too big or small, and you can easily blow up the images anyway on a photocopier and such. The paper seems of good quality and looks like it will last well.
To be honest I think the "Women" book is a little better, there seems to be a bit more of a range of images, especially of ladies by themselves, whereas this book tends to have a lot of group images, which may be harder to seperate well.
All in all, I'd recommend, and would also say to look at the rest of the books by Jim Harter if you're interested in this sort of thing.

Wonderful selection of period illustrations. Paper quality is nice and opaque, but a BIT too porous; reproduction with Streamline is more difficult. Not enough nudes (only a few statues) compared to the book "Women".

i havent used this book too frequently, but it came at a good price combined with another dover book so i purchased it - i wouldn't add this to your dover collection until you've purchased the more general ones
