On the DVD: This limited edition two-disc set contains two versions of the film, in both widescreen (1.85:1) and standard (4:3) ratios, with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. As with the single-disc version there is a "Visual Commentary" that features director Barry Sonnenfeld and actor Tommy Lee Jones in an anecdotal conversation, but with the unique twist that they are displayed as silhouettes on your TV screen (imagine you're sitting in the back row of the cinema and they are up front) using a pointer to highlight particular events on screen. If you have a widescreen TV, the menu prompts you to switch to 4:3 mode to see this. On this two-disc version there is also a second commentary, again featuring Sonnenfeld, this time with special make-up effects wizard Rick Baker and other members of the FX team.
Even more extra features on the second disc are divided into two sections: "Creating MIB" and "Meet the MIB". In the "Creating" segment there is a "Visual Effects Scene Deconstruction" in which the tunnel scene and the Edgar Bug fight scene are dissected into their constituent parts; an in-depth documentary, "Metamorphosis of MIB" which charts the progress of the concept from comic book to screen; five "Extended and Alternate" scenes; "Art and Animation", which includes a character animation studio and creature designs from concept to completion; a behind-the-scenes photo gallery; and most fun of all, a "Scene Editing Workshop" in which you can cut and paste different shots from three scenes and compare your editing with that of the filmmakers. In the "Meet the MIB" section there are "Talent Files" of principal cast and crew, a short "making of" featurette; trailers, including a teaser for MIB II; and Will Smith's "Men in Black" music video. --Mark Walker

Looks just like a new movie and you get tones of extras including an online game on BD- Live. Great film as well.

the worst blu-ray transfer I've seen!,

This review is from: Men in Black [Blu-ray] [2008][Region Free] (Blu-ray)
No effort has been put into this blu-ray at all! The picture is grainy, shakes around a lot and the saturation is dreadful, leaving the film looking washed out and very old. I have blu-rays of movies from the 50s and even from the 1930s that look far better than this. The only new special features are pointless trivia games and even the packaging is cheap and pixelated. The only good thing I can say about it is that the sound quality is excellent, the only improvement over the DVD.
Unless you desperately need to see this film then I would defiantly wait until after MIB3 has been released, there will almost certainly be a new box set.

I must say I enjoy this movie a lot. I've always been a fan of Will Smith, I just thinks he's very funny. So overall, I have no complaints about the movie.
The picture, however, is a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it's still a million times better than any DVD. I tend to watch my BDs on a 55" LCD TV so it's very easy for me to compare the picture quality of different BDs and unfortunately this one is at the bottom of my list. It's simply not as sharp as more recently reproduced BDs such as the 'LOST' series (in which the picture is marvellous) and '2001: a Space Oddesey'. My guess is that this BD has a 720p resolution instead of a 1080p (even though the box says 1080p). Also the range of colours is more limited than other BDs. I still recommend this BD to anyone who's a fan of Will Smith and/or MIB. The picture is a little off but it's still a lot more enjoyable than the DVD and the price - at the time of my purchase - isn't too high. Just don't get your hopes up too much, the picture isn't as clear as 'the Godfather Trilogy', 'Trainspotting' or 'the Matrix'. According to the box, these are the available subtitles and audio tracks: Audio: - English (5.1 HD) - Czech (5.1) - German (5.1, HD) - Hungarian (5.1) - Polish (5.1, VO) - Russian (5.1) Subtitles: - Arabic - Bulgarian - Croatian - Czech - Danish - English (Hard of Hearing) - Finnish - German - Greek - Hebrew - Hindi - Hungarian - Icelandic - Norwegian - Polish - Romanian - Serbian - Slovak - Slovene - Swedish - Turkish Note that I didn't check this information but I'm pretty positive that these are included if it says so on the box.
