Product Description

Product Description

This game invites you to step into the black patent leather shoes of the world's most stylish secret agents: confident veteran Kay and fast-talking Jay. Each has his own way of doing things, and his own set of silver weapons, just like in the movie. You will fire away with 6 authentic MIB weapons, each with multiple levels of power-up ability to inflict more damage on the aliens. MIB weapons include the J2 blaster, XD9 "Lazy Weasel," HBIII Globulator, Ionhammer, Plasma Torch, and DRG Fusion Cannon.

You'll meet and greet all of your favourite MIB aliens, including newcomers Corn Face, Shark Guy and Dog Poop. There are five distinct episodes and over 20 levels of play, including the streets of Manhattan, the docks, the nuclear complex, and the Alien Space Ship. The 5 modes of play are Training, Mission, Time Attack, Boss, and Survival.

Manufacturer's Description

The Men in Black discover a space prison hulk carrying the most dangerous alien gangs in the galaxy that crashed into the Earth's ocean decades ago. With a large number of unlicensed and unaccounted for aliens hiding out on Earth, each one a hardened criminal, there's only one possible course of action. It's time for agents Jay and Kay to hunt them down and bring them in--dead or alive.

Men in Black 2: Alien Escape is a fast-paced third-person perspective action game liberally infused with the trademark humour of the smash 1997 movie and its sequel. The game is divided into five distinct episodes, including a Nuclear Station, the Docks and the streets of Manhattan. All episodes include various levels and challenges to complete prior to progressing through the game.

At the beginning of each level players select either Jay, the athletic, reckless fast-talker, or Kay, the confident veteran. While Jay moves at a faster pace, Kay's knowledge of weapons gives him a higher weapon damage and health bar. Allowing players to switch between characters gives them the opportunity to experiment with various weapons and character strengths, adding variety to the gameplay. Additionally, the non-playable character partner often appears in computer-generated cut-scenes and via comlink throughout the game, providing back up, advice and, of course, wisecracks. Other key members of the Men in Black 2: Alien Escape team, like Zed, also make appearances. Adding to the mayhem is a host of new aliens featured in the upcoming movie sequel as well as popular creatures from the 1997 film, including the coffee-drinking Manitoba. While some aliens are allies and informants, most are hostile and will do anything to take over the planet.

2.0 out of 5 stars not too sure, 31 Dec 2002

i first rented this game and in the first few minutes of play the game is very good. Great graphics and gameplay.But... the game just gets increasingly harder on the first level, also there is nowhere to save the game on the levels and the levels take ages to complete. it's virtually impossible as enemies just keep on coming and they don't stop firing and there's nowhere to stay away from gunfire. Finally you lose power-ups just by being shot once and they dissapear extremely quickly.

pros:

great graphics
good gameplay

cons:
too long on levels
lack of save points
guns look like they're designed ny 7year olds
power-ups dissapear too quickly.

This game is worth a rent because there's no originality that is good, you just shoot anything that moves.

The Men in Black films were poor(no good plot) and the game is actualy better than the both films put together.

I rented this game when it first came out so I don't remember much facts.

Theres about 6 - 9 levels and the huge problem is there are no save points inbetween each levels. So you'll be there for an hour at the least depending on which level your on. You get check points if your lucky(during boss cenes + when your a while through a leval) and its anoying to get close to save point and you die and you then start the level again. You get SCI FI weapons and you can get power ups(which make weapons shoot fast) and when you get shot these pods(from the powerups) fall out and you have to collect them back up(which is annoying).

You basically run through a level and you stay in a room and repetevily, loads of enemies run at you. The doors are lockt and until you killed all the alians(which seems like infinity)the doors wont open.

One word to describe this game SHOOT SHOOT.

The levels get harder along the way. Its annoying when your low on ammo on a boss fight. You can't backtrack to save ammo. You can if you want to start a whole leval again, which takes 2hours!.

Chck out these games that are the best of their types(I know it's unfair to compare the Men in Black 2 to these games that are going to be called classics in the future).

Grand Theft Auto 3 or Vice City(driving, fighting, shooting)
Hitman 2(Stealth/Action)
Time Spltters 2 (For FPS multiplayer)
Time Crisses 2 or 3 (best light gun game on any console)
Smackdown Here Comes The Pain(Wrestling)
Final Fantasy(RPG)
Stunt Man(some may disagree, do stunts in cars)
Tony Hawks(scate boarding) or SSX 3(Snow boarding)
Grand Turismo(for realistic fans of cars + I hate it)
Pro Evolution Soccer
