Kilzer's first release in 1988 was a perfect blend of hard rock, blues, and pop stylings. Two songs, "Memory in the Making" and "Red Blue Jeans" saw regular rotation regionally and nationally upon the album's debut. Produced by Ardent Studios' John Hampton(Tommy Keene, Gin Blossoms), "Memory" was rich in lyrical depth deftly delivered by John's Memphis growl. This man knows how to deliver a soulful pop hook without dipping into the usual cliches. The players on this recording are outstanding, most notably guitarist Jack Holder. This album will stick to your ears and not let go. I still find "Memory" in the bins at used C.D. stores and occasionally at Blockbuster and Tower. Look hard, you'll find him.
