A good read 9 Dec 2010
Format:Paperback
Having read Debbo's "Wait for me" which I loved, I picked up this slim volume by her husband. He writes in a dry, man's sort of way, giving the straightforward unembroidered facts. It fills in some of the gaps left by Debbo and is written in a modest way about a very full life. Giving names of the rich and famous because they passed through his life but not in a pretentious way. He and his wife were very close to the Kennedy's and both books give an insight into the Presidential inaugeration and the funerals of both Jack and Robert. These books compliment each other and should both be read.

A wonderful insight into the lives of the Deborah Mitford and Andrew Devonshire who were the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire who made Chatsworth into the success it is today (amongst many other successes). Wonderful photographs not often seen

Enjoyed this book as i have met and spoken to AD's wife, Deborah Devonshire and found her to be a remarkable lady. Began to select a number of books related to her. This one was interesting, however found it to have more pictures than words which do not always describe the whole story. Still award it 5 even though I was not able to obtain the hardback edition.
