The item came packaged in a nice box and gave me that special 'unboxing' feeling as I fiddled through the tedious opening and unpacking process. I was disappointed from the onset.
The clock/radio is made of a shiny, gloss plastic, similar to that found on many Logitech products. The difference? The finishing here was appalling. There were scratches on the side (I don't know if that was just my unit) and the plastic generally had a very cheap feel to it. The ipod docking station was sturdy though and in a fairly convenient place. The buttons were all nicely placed on the unit; which included the basics such as forward, back, play, etc and a nice, big (albeit thin) snooze button.
The light on the unit itself has 3 main dim-settings, which is a nice touch as I find it annoying when the lights go out and there is a very noticeable glow in the room. kudos for that.
The sound quality is quite frankly awful! The unit does not go very loud to begin with, and there is obvious distortion near the high end. I was a bit gutted by this as the large speaker on the unit sends out a different message. Also, there is only FM radio and a handy (but small) remote with basic commands.
All-in-all, I would not recommend this item. There are better docking stations out there in terms of both performance and style. 2/5
