For burning on the external Dvd recorders previously indicated, these discs are just fine and we had no problems with them at all. Can't really speak of PC burning. Pity that price wise they are just a little bit OTT now as they are up there with Verbatim which is my particular favourite. All IMHO of coarse.
not a single disk faulty. Agree about the packaging though if you like to keep discs
in the tube this is not ideal.
Unfortunately, and to my great annoyance, the last 100-disk spindle I bought here turned out to be incompatible with my Sony standalone DVD recorder. The recorder correctly loaded and formatted the disks, but either stopped halfway through a dubbing or crashed altogether in other cases, and even when it had fully dubbed a DVD and finalised it, could not reload the DVD which it had just completed dubbing.
This was so puzzling and disappointing for me, because I had switched to Memorex, after trying and failing to find any consistency with most other disk brands, including TDK and Verbatim. I very rarely get angry, but this time I did. So, I wrote to the Amazon reseller Incubus Bargains, and being such a great and caring company, they immediately arranged a full refund, saying that this batch of DVDs may be defective, asked me to dispose them in recycling, and even suggested the brands of replacements that I could try. Thanks to them and Amazon, now I have purchased a Sony DVD-R Ref.100DMR47BSP, 100-disk spindle, which proved to be just 3 pounds more, because of a current discount. I have not yet used these Sony DVD-R disks, but I hope they would work on 'all existing DVD player-recorders' as they advertise.
Because of the many problems I have experienced in using DVDs in the past, I did a lot of research on the reliability of DVD media, and found that cheapest disks can be very unreliable, even if they appear to work first. If you are archiving large amounts of backups as I do, I strongly recommend not to use cheap disks like this Memorex brand, because they have a number of inconsistencies against the international standards.Read more ›
I've been using these blank Memorex DVD's for years, dubbing TV programmes to disk on a variety of hard drive DVD recorders and for backing up data on my PC.
Out of all the hundreds of disks used, I have had only a handful of failures and these were caused by an old glitchy DVD recorder. My current Sony DVD recorder appears to love these discs as it has not produced a single failure.
I shall continue to buy these discs because personally I think they're great.

I had one or two fails in the 50 or so discs that I have used so far, but that is quite acceptable in my opinion.
This used to be a good buy for £18. Read more
