Yes it works, until you put hot (not boiling) water into it, to make any of the popular all in one coffee mixes i.e. Latte or Cappi. The acrylic beaker is not heat resistant and soon begins to craze followed by heat stress cracks. Finally the beaker splits and is useless.
Therefore only use with cold or warm fluids. I cannot define the limits for warm, that will have to be the risk you take.

This coffee milk frother is recommended by a lot of people on liquid, vcld (very low calorie) diets, who have to drink 4-6 liquid meals per day and need something useful. I have used this product for that purpose for 5 days and found it brilliantly suited to this purpose. More effective than other mixing methods and portable. Unlike other mixers and whisks, this is practically silent, and nothing splashes or flies out of the cup, causing the usual mess.

I reserve one star because I cannot vouch for the longevity of the cup. It feels decently solid, but not overly so, and I do wonder if it will last for more than a few months used over 4 times a day. We shall see. And, while I have not had the heat cracks that a previous reviewer mentions, I don't doubt that would happen -- so I refrain from using overly hot water.

UPDATE AFTER FIVE WEEKS: Amazon won't let me change the number of stars, or I would reduce this to 3 stars. But I can at least add this update: the cup is great while it lasts but only lasted for a few weeks. It conks out and breaks down with regular 4 shakes/soups per day, that a VLCD dieter needs to make. Well... it wasn't created for that use, so... what can I say?

Thought it is such a good idea and decent price. It does work but does not like boiling water.
