Product Description

Synopsis

Back in 1964, 18-year-old Joseph McMoneagle joined the army to escape an unhappy family life in the Miami projects. McMoneagle had shown high aptitude in intelligence tests and soon wound up in several interesting assignments in the Bahamas, West Germany and Thailand as an intelligence officer. But McMoneagle was not happy - his military career interfered with, what was eventually, a failed marriage, and his applications for promotion went unanswered. Still, he seemed to lead a charmed life and met people who directed him along his path. In 1977, he was recruited for a top-secret army project that became known as Stargate - psychic spying on behalf of the United States. The army showed McMoneagle secret documents, based on information compiled by the Stanford Research Institute, that revealed enemy psychics spying on the United States. Willing to learn more, McMoneagle soon became immersed in the programme, which was set up in some old buildings on the periphery of Fort Meade, near Washington, D.C.

During the 10 years that McMoneagle spent with this programme, he allegedly developed an uncanny ability at "remote viewing", a process by which he was able to psychically see a targeted object, at one point seeing into a secret Soviet submarine construction facility and at another pinpointing where an American general was being held by members of Italy's Red Brigade. McMoneagle retired from this draining work in 1987, married a third time and devoted his time to freelance work, sometimes at Stanford. After the Stargate programme was revealed to the public on Nightline, McMoneagle appeared on television in America and Japan. This book is a fascinating peek into the secret world of an offbeat military intelligence programme and a life lived within it.

This book had been recommended by several I know with interests in this field. I thoroughly enjoyed the read, hearing about the writers' background, and the experiments they conducted, as well as the actual exercises. Would certainly recommend to anyone exploring remote viewing as a 'must read'.

Just finished this after six hours non stop reading and immediately ordered all other books by this author. Jo offers up his soul to tell us of the trials of a soldier destined to work on a secret project of developing and uitilising superhuman talent to see across space and time, in an attempt to assist security services in the US.

Jo takes us along a journey of his development through a harsh childhood, then an even harsher life in the army which leaves him with the most honed ability in thw world to see what he calls 'target' usually people places or events which threaten the US. All this while being lead into sacrificing his health and normal family life.

The self discipline, commitment and dedication he demonstrates are probably 'standard soldiering' but his integrity, superhuman endurance and commitment to developing his skills for espionage using his psychic abilities goes beyond the call of duty.

Sad indictment on an America which worships money, has little soul or conscience and doesn't mind leaving disabled soldiers to limp along in poverty once thrown out of the army. All those at top government level shold be forced to go through one fraction of what they put soldiers through and then decide whether to go to war.

A human account of a superhuman with amazing paranormal ability to see into the future, possibly into the Kremlin, or even into our palace, when they don't know whose looking, and into situations which enable special forces to carry out otherwise impossible rescue missions.

Jo demonstrates that we do have psychic abilities, but it seems there is a price to pay for developing it, and then there is always the question of morality attached to how we should be forced to use it by unrelenting mercenary forces.......................... Wonder why Joe never located Osama---maybe he did but Bush and Blair wanted a bit more time to spread terror around the world.

This is renamed; it is originally The StarGate Chronicles. I just wouldn't want anybody to think it might be a different book. It's the same book, but in paperback format. You should read the reviews on tSC if you want to know more about this.

Tells of the first military recruit for the government to use his abilities as a 'psychic spy' 11 Sep 2006
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Memoirs Of A Psychic Spy: The Remarkable Life Of U.S. Government Remote Viewer 001 tells of the first military recruit for the government to use his abilities as a 'psychic spy' during the Cold War and beyond, following nearly twenty years of psychic spying and reissuing the classic 2002 title The Stargate Chronicles in paper. His predictions and observations were startlingly accurate and his intelligence-gathering results included pinpointing the underground facility used to store Soviet missiles during the Cold War. While the Stargate project was shut down and labeled a failure, it's interesting to note that forty percent of its documents are still classified.

I was blind and now I can see 29 Sep 2008
By Seeing Eagle - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I read most all the books of Joseph McMoneagle, including "The Stargate Chronicles, Memoirs of a Psychic Spy", "Memoirs of a Psychic Spy" - yes I bought the same book twice because the titles were different... Doh!..., "Remote Viewing Secrets". Joe put his life on the line for me as true man of honor and patriot and I believe every word he writes in these pages. Plus I've seen him at work and know what he can do. Main stream science won't even look at the documented evidence. [...]
