The second installment of G.S. Wright's fantastic new series. Picking up moments after the original, MEMENTO MORI continues the story of Matilda and her quest/vengeance...
Imagination abounds. Slam bang action. Haunting horror. A plucky heroine. A grieving widower. A disgustingly evil scientist. Yeah, everything and the kitchen sink. Like I said before. IT WORKS! And, boy, does it. Twice as long as Book One. The enhanced character development is superb. The final twist near the cliffhanger ending comes out of nowhere. Haunting and makes you salivate for the next book.
This time, the story is mostly ground-based in a desert wasteland. There are new terrors (especially at night). To reveal much more would be a disservice to Mr. Wright's storytelling. Spoilers can really ruin things. The best thing to do, pick up the first book and this one. Read them back to back.
I have been a fan since BROKEN THINGS. G.S. Wright is a brilliant, imaginative writer. He knows how to create interesting characters and throw them into situations, no holds barred. The biggest gift... his uncanny ability to make you feel you are there with them. Your imagination runs wild. Amazingly talented. Thanks Garth. Looking forward to Book Three. :) Jolly good show.
