Format:Audio CD
While I was considering purchasing this CD I was concerned that some of the tracks might have been re-recorded. Fear not though as these little gems are all originals. This takes me back to the seventies when I bought some of these songs on good old 45rpm singles. Blue Mink were very successful session musicians who played with many big name artists. Their best known song is probably the anti-racial themed Melting Pot, but try and keep your feet from tapping to Good Morning Freedom! Why don't we hear more of Blue Mink on the radio? At the price I paid on Amazon it's a real bargain so give it a go.

Bought this for two or three tracks only due to the bargain price but very pleasantly surprised by the quality the other content. Great vocals from Madeline Bell, solid instrumentals. Recommended.

It was circa 66-68 and always a source of frustration for my late sister in law & I that Newark,USA born Madeline Bell who had by then re-located to the UK backed Dusty Springfield with PP Arnold and had a string of near misses with some outstanding singles, could not as hard as she tried break the uk charts. However late in 1969 her fortunes changed when she was part of a super-group called Blue Mink which she fronted. The international hit Melting Pot meant that Blue Mink were on their way and finally Madeline received the success she deserved.The whole band were outstanding musicians and songwriters and their quality shows on this fine offering at a snip of a price. Covers 1979-1974 and is a must collection to own.

Good, Feel Good Pop!!
This is a fine "pop" Cd of a group of session musicians who got together to form a band just for recording purposes but they ended up performing. Read more

Just a couple of songs missing
This is a great cd, just a couple of songs that were not on it that were on the original LP, what a shame.

Melting Pot - The Best Of Blue Mink
Was looking for a CD version of "Only When I Laugh", but prices too high, so bought this as an alternative. Not as good, but their quality is there to hear.
