I bought this puzzle for my one year old nephew for christmas, so it's not been opened yet, but it is so lovely! The colours are bright and when my 3 year old daughter saw it she wanted to play. There are no pegs on the pieces, but they are chunky and stick out quite a bit so easy to hold/pick up. They also have the added bonus of being able to stand up on their own so the child can play with them like they were animal figures. I really love this puzzle - as I do most Melissa and Doug toys, and would definitely recommend it. I wish I'd bought one for my daughter when she was younger - it would have been one of the few toys I decided to keep. In short - buy one!

bought this puzzle for my two year old. too easy for her really but she loves it. she likes to play with the pieces as they can stand up. that's what sets it apart really. adds another dimensions. lovely puzzle, bright colours and designs. very sturdy. would recommend.

My 16 months old daughter likes this puzzle a lot as she is into farm animals at the moment, but the wooden bits are loosing colour very quickly, specially as she still puts things in her mouth. Otherwise a good toy.

A well made chunky puzzle, ideal for little hands to play with. The farm animals are sturdy enough to stand up and be played with outside the puzzle board.

Made of MDF not wood
This puzzle is made from MDF not wood. I was unhappy when I saw my young grandaughter chewing it! I wouldn't buy any more.
