This is a really nice toy - well made in traditional styling. All of the pieces are made out of good quality beautifully finished wood and the pizza wheel works nicely for separating the segments of this cutting food toy.
Like the similar birthday party set (also made by Melissa and Doug), this little set really supports the interests of the preschool children I work with well: allowing them to imagine all kinds of dining scenarios (restaurants, home cooking, take away), practice sharing, turn taking, customise their own pizzas and even practice their basic maths skills (counting the segments and different kinds of toppings they want on their pizzas). The colours for this set are perhaps less appealing than those of the 'Birthday party' set, and even when pretending the majority of children don't seem inclined to favour mushrooms as a pizza topping!
The set comes in a nicely made wooden storage tray, complete with compartments for storing the topping pieces. The only thing more you could have really asked would have been a lid for the top of the storage tray, to help ensure that the pieces are kept safely.
