I was very, very pleased with this workout! Mel B is a revelation as a fitness instructor and unlike other celebrities, she leads the routines without using a trainer, completely owning the programme, very inspiring!

The location is fantastic to look at, outdoors, blue skies and you can even hear the ocean in some parts! There's just the right mix of men and women working out behind Mel and if you look closely, you'll see that one will be doing a low, medium or high impact version of a particular exercise.

The workout is ingeniously organised in that you can programme which parts to do each session. There is 5-minute warm up and cool down (essential to do both of these each time), a 15 minute cardio workout, a 20 minute more advanced total body workout cardio section, then separate sections for arms, tums, legs and bums, all lasting about 10 minutes each. At the moment, I do the warm up, 15 minute cardio, arms and legs then cool down which takes 50 minutes and the next time I swap arms and legs for bums and tums. There's a good mix of familiar moves, plus some new and updated exercises, all of which are carried out in repetitions of 1 minute each or 30 seconds for the floor work. Most of the exercises follow low impact cross training, so you work on specific areas for a short period and carry out multiple reps before quickly moving onto the next set of movements. The cardio sections (especially advanced cardio) include fat burning along with a complete body workout.

I think this is a great DVD. I have many fitness DVD's but this has to be one of my top five. I think Mel B might have found herself a new niche. She is an excellent instructor and keeps you motivated and I too like the fact the exercises are for a minute then change and are easy to follow.

The only reason I didn't give the DVD five stars was because some of the exercises for a beginner like me were tough so I have had to compromise some of the moves just now like mountain climbing! I think there could have been more beginner elements in some of the moves especially the abs section. The 'Hot Potato' ended up being the 'Flat Potato' for me, still got to master that one, not enough core muscles yet!! I also felt a little more postural instruction should have been given from time to time. I have exercised before so well aware of posture for side leg raises but people new to exercise might not be.

I have done the routine (missed advance cardio for now) through 3 times in the last week and I think its great. If like me you know the moves now you can crank on your own music and get Totally Fit!

If you would prefer an alternative to another dance dvd then this is for you. Great instructor and great workout. I do hope Mel B releases another DVD in the future.

the workout is good and the best feature is that you can choose your workout in the order that you would like. However, i am very unfit and found the workout too fast and demanding. i wouldn't recommend it for an unfit novice like me. overall it is good and has potential and when i can lose some weight through gentler methods-then i shall use it regulary

This is the second exercise DVD I have bought since the new year - the other one being Davina's. My aim is to get fit and slim as quick as I can. I am really impressed with this DVD, but be warned it is not for the totally unfit person as the intensity is very high (although she says do as much as you are able). I like a challenge and this DVD is certainly challenging. I like the fact that this is a proper exercise routine, not a dancey aerobicy one - I like straight forward repetive exercises best. I have to say Mel B is brilliant in it, she looks every bit the professional exercise teacher - she leads the routine unlike most celeb DVDs where they follow. She looks amazing in the DVD and it is such a motivator to watch someone who obviously practices what she preaches. The setting for the DVD looks amazing - It looks to be a place like California overlooking the blue sea and next to the swimming pool. It takes the imagination to a different place rather than the dull dreary weather at home. On this DVD there is also an extra section where she discusses diet and nutrition. She is in a kitchen showing us exactly what she eats and even shows you how to prepare the food. I'm really excited about this DVD and it will be a great addition to my exercise routine - along with Davina's workout - which is great too, but different. I will be using both of these DVD's and I expect to see results pretty fast if I do them combined 3-4 times a weeks as recommended.

If you are unfit, you will struggle with this workout. It is tough but effective. The three key aspects that I liked about the cardio workout is that it is mainly low impact, that it is similar to doing circuit training and the exercises are the no thrills type which do not require fancy footwork or silly dance routines. This workout is for people like me who want to do proper exercise. I do quite a lot of high impact cardio exercise like running and Bodycombat so I like the variety that this low impact routine provided. As well as the low impact cardio, there is toning exercise for the main body parts - arms, legs, bums and abs. You do not have to be very flexible either to work out to this DVD.

In terms of space and props, you only need a small area and if you do not have dumbbells, two bottles of water or two cans of food will suffice.

Mel B is incredibly fit and it is refreshing to have a sleb actually leading the exercise routine rather than a hired hand! Mel B knows what she is doing and is relentless in her commitment and works you really hard. Her floor work, especially the push-up routine is punishing because there is no break between each exercise and I struggled to keep up with her and her team.

The abs workout is tough and after doing it, I can see why she has a super-tight midriff. Arrghhhhhh!!!

Another reviewer complained about the music being bland but to be honest, I did not even notice the music because I was too focused on doing the exercise and working up a sweat. Mel B's voice can be irritating but again I focused on doing the exercise and after a while, she became less irritating.

Overall, this is a workout that fans of real exercise, who are not afraid of hard work, will love.
