* Mel & Tim are best known for their two million-selling singles `Backfield In Motion' and `Starting All Over Again' but it is their third album, simply called "Mel & Tim" that sets collectors' hearts ablaze. Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound studio and featuring their classic rhythm section of Hawkins, Hood, Beckett and Johnson, it is a simple Southern soul classic.

* The LP is now known for the Gilles Peterson Vibrazone classic, `Keep The Faith', written by Mark James (the writer of `Suspicious Minds' and `Always On My Mind').

* The rest of the album is a showcase for the songwriting talent on Prince Phillip Mitchell.

Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
It just arrived yesterday and I have only heard it a few times...but it is really great. Even though the sleeve says funk and soul with folk elements it is more like lazy soul with broad orchestral arrangements played by REAL musicians and instruments. Produced in Muscle Shoals by Barry Becket it has both strength and nerve despite the over all relaxed feeling. The vocals are passionate and the tunes are good. Real nice music. A lost classic.
