This is book 7-9 following the adventures of 13-year-old angel Mel Beeby, who attends the Angel Academy and goes on missions to help humans in different time periods regularly. The first three books establish Mel's place in a lot of ways, and the next three become more experimental, even having a very intense mission in ancient Rome during the rule of Emperor Nero. But these books are very much the best.
"Making Waves" is the seventh in the series, and portrays Mel and two others going for a HALO award in seventeenth-century Jamaica. When both lose their memories and think they are their human cover, it's up to Mel to help them regain their memories. Extra kudos for the appearance of Mariah Darcy, the granddaughter of an Elizabethan pirate's daughter from the second book "Losing The Plot".
"Budding Star" gives Mel a new type of mission where she and a friend of hers goes on a mission in Limbo to retrieve the soul of a Japanese teen pop star. Very interesting and different compared to the other books. Also gives you the first hint of the characters Reuben and Mel having any romantic interests in each other.
"Keeping It Real" has Mel going solo, even if she's not really alone. She's meant to help her friends on Earth get back on course, especially Sky, who has a human Opposition agent for a boyfriend. I can't say more about it without giving the ending away, but what I can say is that the ninth book will have you dying to read "Going For Gold", the tenth.
So just buy this, as well as the other books. There's twelve in the series, and you can so far buy three collections, while books 10-12 are still separate. I highly recommend this book.
