About the Author
A Career Includes internationally acclaimed film Hilter: A Career Directed by Joachim C. Fest and Christian Herrendoerfer. Joachim C. Fest s film, made in 1977, documents the Hitler period and attempts to give a rational and concrete account of that epoch. It also provides a basis for judgment. The film cannot change German history, it does not glorify it either. It does however illuminate it, especially for those who can no longer imagine what it was like. None of the scenes in this film were reconstructed. They are without exception taken from authentic film and sound materials, original evidence from the Nazi period. This is also the case with the unusual and largely unknown sequences in colour. The film was compiled from more than 300,000 feet of film material, including many incomplete or unreleased scenes from German and foreign archives. Many unusual sequences come from private collections as well.
