Quality Reference 1 Sept. 2011
By AbbyRose14 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I picked up this book at a going out of business sale and immediately flipped through the glossy pages. The first thing I noticed was that the book (although thin) felt substantial in my hands due to the quality of the cover and page weight.

This book has a short overview of Meier's career in the introduction (probably 10-15 pages) and then goes into each work separately. The pictures are large and in color, with 1-3 for each building featured. Take note that this is not a scholarly in-depth work. At less than 100 pages this is a good book to introduce you to the architect and his most notable works. What sold me on this book was that some buildings actually have floor plans shown (nothing labeled or dimensioned, but still a great tool to understand the use of space). The quality and price of this book leads me to believe the rest of the Basic Architecture Series from Taschen would be just as smart of a buy.
