I haven't seen inside the box yet, as it's a xmas gift, but it is far better than I expected. Big box with lots of bits to make up.
Sometimes the lego kits are disappointing inside.

The $9.99 price between Christmas and New Years convinced me to try this set, and I am glad I did. The build was enjoyable, but not difficult, as the visual instructions are excellent. I have built most of the Halo ground vehicles from Mega Bloks, and found this one to be one of the more durable and playable ones, tending to stay together during play. The 8 missiles in the 2 fully rotating pods are a nice feature and stay in place until the launch buttons are pushed. The UNSC figure in arctic camo is nice, but the Hunter figure really shines...lots of detail and articulation. If the price was the same, I probably would have gone with the standard green camo color to display with the other vehicles, but I am now considering adding the arctic Warthog as well.

My son enjoys the Halo game more than anything else. Naturally this toy would hit his sweet spot. It is my first experience with Mega Blocks and I have to say its quality is pretty good, even comparable to LEGO. In fact, I like Mega Block's instruction manual better than LEGO's. It seems LEGO's instruction manual requires more interpretation than Mega Blocks. This Mega Blocks' manual indicates which pieces are required and how many you need for each steps while LEGO just illustrates the built step. Anyway, my son has been playing with this and it is holding up pretty well. As expected, occasional pieces get knocked off but nothing that can't be put back on easily. At $11.99 with FS, can't beat this deal!
