About the Author
Helen Nicoll worked with Jan Pieñkowski for over twenty years, first at the BBC and then on the Meg & Mog stories. She owned and ran the audio company Cover to Cover for many years. Helen lives in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
Jan Pieñkowski is a celebrated illustrator of children's books. He has won the Greenaway Medal twice - for his illustration of Joan Aiken's The Kingdom Under the Sea and for Haunted House. Jan lives in London.

We adore this book. The flaps are sturdy and my 20 monther adores tracking down Meg and Mog.

This is a brilliant book! The simple pictures are bright and large number of flaps mean that you can introduce a few more each time you read it. The illustrations also allow you to use it on different levels as their understanding progresses with simple, identify the objects and animals and identifying animals by their sounds to learning to count. It also ends with everyone going to sleep so makes a great bedtime story. I bought it for my 1 year old who still loves it a year later and we still have two flaps to lift up. The book is well made and very robust. This as been purchased several times as gifts since! I highly recommend it!

We have bought a number of books since our daughter was born but this is one of the favourites. She has had it since she was about 9 months old, and 10 months later it is still going strong. There isn't much of a story, it's more about the pictures - or more precisely, what's behind them. The flaps seem to be (so far!) tear-proof. Great value as it has been read almost every day.
