Bought this as b’day present for female flatmate because she loved first book by same author. I had nothing to read over Christmas so picked it up. Surprised how much I enjoyed it. Thought it would be a girlie read but actually gripping. Great plotting. Lots of sub-plots. Full of twists. Kept me guessing. Loved descriptions of Nice and surrounding area. Could practically taste the olives. Will definitely read next one. Recommended. 4 and half stars.

Got this book as a Christmas present and started it 2 days ago. I couldn't put it down until I had finished it! Excellent story with lots of twists and turns and keeps you guessing right until the end. I would highly recommend it, it's a great read.

Chick Lit at its very worst
I bought this book on the strength of one reviewer describing McAuley as perhaps the new Maeve Binchy whose fiction I love. Forget it! This book was absolute dross. Read more
