I own many a craft book, but one as well thought out as this is a rare find. Pip Lincolne has brought together 26 projects from Australia's most fabulous crafty folks covering sewing, knitting, crochet, screenprinting and paper crafts. The projects are within the grasp of the beginner, but also provide a jumping off point for the more experienced crafter.
Spiral binding and full sized pattern pieces make it clear that this isn't one of those 'look at, but never make from' glossy craft books. The photo styling is quirky and beautiful and revels in the joy of the handmade. As Pip says in her introduction, 'Making is one of life's great joys' and this is a book that certainly adds to that pleasure.
All the contributors to the book have blogs, which are detailed at the back of the book. If you're a crafter who hasn't discovered blogs yet, you are in for such a treat. Enough natter, there's an obi belt and some paper flowers calling my name.
