I own many a craft book, but one as well thought out as this is a rare find. Pip Lincolne has brought together 26 projects from Australia's most fabulous crafty folks covering sewing, knitting, crochet, screenprinting and paper crafts. The projects are within the grasp of the beginner, but also provide a jumping off point for the more experienced crafter.

Spiral binding and full sized pattern pieces make it clear that this isn't one of those 'look at, but never make from' glossy craft books. The photo styling is quirky and beautiful and revels in the joy of the handmade. As Pip says in her introduction, 'Making is one of life's great joys' and this is a book that certainly adds to that pleasure.

All the contributors to the book have blogs, which are detailed at the back of the book. If you're a crafter who hasn't discovered blogs yet, you are in for such a treat. Enough natter, there's an obi belt and some paper flowers calling my name.

I purchased this book after much deliberation as I didn't think i would ever make anything out of it but how wrong i was!
My 8 year old daughter insisted on making Zing the Cat one "stay indoors" sort of day, and I have to say that,
although there is no way she could make it by herself, the instructions were extremely easy to follow and the finished result was very close to the picture in the book.
She was thrilled with the result and so was I!
My friend has made a number of the baby shoes and I have started the notebook cover now.
All in all the instructions are clear easy to follow and the projects are really divine. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to make cute useable crafts.Meet Me at Mike's: 26 Fun and Crafty Projects

Great craft book! 3 Jan 2011

I have just been given this book for Christmas and I have already made something! It was really easy to follow with interesting illustrations and comments, as well as being beautifully laid out and designed. I have never been so eager to complete more sewing projects for myself and as gifts for others! What a great book - well worth it.
