I've never been much for fad diets, such as the Atkins Diet, but the Mediterranean Diet is something completely different. This is a no-nonsense cookbook with more than just recipes. I've never cooked Mediterranean food, but all four of the recipes that I've tried so far have been incredibly easy to make.

I was just expecting a cookbook, but Aubrey Mitchell offers a complete explanation of the Mediterranean Diet, including some great cooking tips. That was a nice extra surprise, but the main reason I got the book was for the recipes and they did not disappoint. "Mediterranean Diet Cookbook" offers a great selection of main dishes and sides with a few unexpected recipes like "Walnut Granola Cereals" and "Mediterranean-style scones". All the recipes include a photo of the finished dish and nutritional info. Whether you are looking for recipes and info to compliment your Mediterranean Diet regimen or just looking for some tasty Italian and Greek recipes, you can't go wrong with this book.

By the way, Mitchell's "For Adults Only" Mediterranean Chicken is on the menu for Saturday night.

Zucchini recipes with no zucchini in the ingredient list. Ingredients left out of the instructions. Dairy used in recipes marked as vegan in the introduction. A mix of U.S. and British measurements in the book. Were this recipes pulled straight from the internet without any proofing?
