Product Description

Review

"This book is gold for the lazy medical student. The information is presented as a series of double page spreads and is accompanied by ‘efficient’ diagrams and tables. I am more than inclined to believe the British student quoted at the back of this book saying this is all that he/she needed to pass the final medical exam. That said, this book is also for the studious medical student. Need a quick refresher before hitting the wards? Hello. Need a framework for memorizing all the information you’re reading in Harrisons etc? Hello hello. Yes, once you start using this book, you won’t say goodbye to it, at least in medical school." Gube Magazine, September 2006, Melbourne University Medical Students Association

"A very useful book for finalists looking to scan through all the main pathologies with fantastic colour illustrations and diagrams to guide your reading and act as useful memory aids." Medical Student, St. Andrews University

"Fantastic revision tool before finals with all the breadth of information you need and full colour, clearly laid out diagrams." Medical Student, St. Georges Medical School

"Maximise your time by reading Medicine at a Glance. It has easy to read, clear and logical text and shows you everything you need to know as a medical student. Highly recommended!" Medical Student, University of East Anglia.

"The most up–to–date and best presented clinical medicine text on the market. It contains succinct and clear explanations of the medical conditions any student is expected to know. A student favourite." Medical Student, Nottingham University

′Pitched perfectly at the finalist, this beautifully illustrated text has everything′ Final Year Student, Oxford University

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have for Finals, 28 Nov 2003
This review is from: Medicine at a Glance (Paperback)
Afetr buying and borrowing dozens of texts to study from for Final MB, I can with complete confidence recommend this book to all Final Year students. It's got everything you'll need for Final MB Medicine. Learn this, and you'll get through the EMQs and the theory in the Clinicals. However, as a word of warning, the At A Glance book for Surgery is not as comprehensive as it's Medicine counterpart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breadth of knowledge and revision, 6 Jun 2006
This review is from: Medicine at a Glance (Paperback)
it seems like the at a glance series has been revised and improved rather a lot lately. i never used to like these books but am now finding them increasingly useful (the surgery one is ace too). the diagrams are brilliant - clearly drawn, not too cramped, perfect amount of information. also, i think it's better that occasionally now they are prepared to break the "double page spread per topic" law. they don't do it very often (which will please die hard fans of the series) but where a topic requires extra coverage, they accommodate. as a textbook, it's not enough on its own to excel at med school, but it's perfect revision - even for geeks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Medicine at a Glance, 18 Nov 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Medicine at a Glance (Paperback)
Medicine at a Glance continues the excellent format of the series. With over 400 pages there is significantly more for your money than most other books in the series. The book sticks to tried and tested 2 pages per topic format, but the diagrams are in colour. The material is presented both from a traditional disease-based approach, and also from a symptom-based angle. I am not sure that this book could replace a traditional clinical medicine text outright, but it is a very good text none the less.
