When Madlib launched his Medicine Show series, the original idea was simple: 12 releases, one per month, alternating between original works and mixtapes spanning di¬erent genres. It took a little longer than planned to get to Episode 12, which put the idea in his head to create a bonus Medicine Show # 13. And here it is, the long -rumoured, highly-anticipated final instalment. Black Tape (which is of course actually a CD) is a 60 minute hip hop mix of some of rap s best, half-best, brilliant and borderline-retarded MCs, all colliding head-on with a collection of unique Madlib beats ... with no tracklisting.

hiphop alive? THIS IS HIPHOP 15 Mar 2012

this cd is more alive then any music in the last year. sure the rappers might not be the best. but the beats that madlib gives to these lyricists is just something u cant ignore. the exploration in sound is something to be appreciated. i would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of "hiphop".
