Gives confidence! Very helpful 26 Oct 2011
By kmonkulus - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
When preparing for my medical school interviews, I purchased 3 of the most popular books on amazon, and found this to be the most useful to me. The format is easy to understand, and the content is concise but invaluable. The lists of example interview questions is extensive and thorough. Additionally, the book provides other useful advice, such as what to pack, what else may happen during the interview day, and what to wear.

In the end, much of this book (and all interview advice books) is common sense, if you really think about it. Of course everyone knows to get sleep the night before, dress professionally, and that they will be asked why they want to be a doctor. However, the tone used in this book made me gain confidence as I read it. I felt better knowing that I wasn't just guessing about how I should prepare - someone else thought that way too. In the end, although I didn't necessarily gain any "secrets" from reading this book, it was worth every penny to me for the confidence having it imparted to me.

Incredibly helpful! 22 July 2010
By djaller1 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
During the time when my son was applying to medical school several months ago, I came across Dr. Freedman's book in which Dr. Freedman uses her experience as both a medical educator and interviewer for medical schools to expertly outline the nuances and expectations of the medical school interview. I spent several hours with him reviewing the information provided in the book and going over most of the practice interview questions prior to both of his medical school interviews. The end result was two very successful interviews and an acceptance into a prestigious United States Medical School. While there were many factors that lead to his acceptance, I feel strongly that Dr. Freedman's book was a major part of that success. I would strongly recommend her book to anyone who is seriously preparing for a medical school interview!

Good insights 6 Nov 2010

I would recommend this book to all pre-meds out there. It's a little redundant at points, but gives nice insights into the interview process overall.
