5.0 out of 5 stars Superb! 27 Dec 2008
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is the best value purchase I've made in years. A fabulous boxed collection of maps and informative brochures in addition to the text I had expected to receive. A real surprise - packed full of interesting info on History of Medicine & much more.Makes me want to get down to London and seek out the Physick Garden and other sites. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful! 24 Sep 2011
I am delighted by this wonderful collection of essays and walking tours of medical history in London. The layout is beautiful, the writing is engaging, and the whole idea is brilliant. My only regret is that I purchased this right before I left London, and now I must wait until I return in the unforeseen future to go on the tours. I just love this box set.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice package 12 Feb 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a superbly printed box set, containing a book, "gazetteer" and a set of maps. The book is written in an engaging style, with glimpses into London's diseased past with themed chapters. The gazetteer is a handy guide to all of the medical institutions (apart from hospitals) such as fraternities, historic spots, museums, etc. The self-guided walks are beautifully printed and designed, but the walks only take you in the general area of the sites of interest, rather than pointing you directly to them, which had I known would have brought along the gazetteer.

I look forward to Wellcome Collection printing more packages such as this.
