If you are interested in the medical aspects of acupuncture this book is a good starting point. The various comtributors have been asked to write a chapter about "their" subject when the topic is potentially huge. There are excellent references and the graphics are generally good. For the Traditional acupuncturists, this is the way the other half thinks!

Medical Acupuncture, A Western Scientific Approach is a collection of essays on acupuncture that helps serve as the foundation of a bridge between acupunture as practiced in Tradtional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupunture as practiced from a western biomedical or neuroanatomic perspective. It is not a stand alone book. It is not a practical "how to" book. It is a solid "bridge" book that allows the western trained mind gain a better understanding of acupuncture and how it works / may work.
