Ramin Djawadi scored the movie Mr. Brooks where I found his minimal work on it a little unappealing. When I played this (great) game and found out he scored it I had to further check it out. With me enjoying the game throughly I'll admit the music didn't hit me as much only in some sections. Upon reading about the soundtrack I gave it a listen. Now I love it.
Djawadi mixes in heroic styles music as well as action, middle east influences to create a contemporary, easily accessible, and exciting score. The soundtrack fits perfectly in with the tone of the game: dark, violent, tragic, and exciting.
Standouts include: 'Heroes Abroad', 'Falling Away', 'All Rounds Expended', 'Final Extraction', 'Hunter-Killer'. In reality many of the tracks are excellent with 'Enemy Down' being poor. Many of the tracks are joys to listen to.
The score is not perfect though. At 20 tracks it could be cut down or some tracks amalgamated. Falling Away, Heroes, and Final Extraction are a little too 'samey' and could be diversified but it's a minor complaint.
In sum, it's a fine soundtrack and has shot into my favourites. I played the game and took small notice of the background, now I can't wait to buy Medal Of Honor to fully immerse myself into the world of the developers and Djawadi.
