5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant game, worth every penny 23 Jan 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am a massive fan of fps(first person shooters) games and this game is excellent, great story play, good story and a nice array of weapons to use. Easy to use controls just to top it off nicely. Online game play is good but you will get sick of if eventually, but I do still keep going back to it to be fair. Still well worth the money I paid for the game and I bought it in the day of release.

2.0 out of 5 stars Medal of Honor: Warfighter Review 28 Oct 2012
By MrE TOP 500 REVIEWER
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Firstly i will state that i pre-ordered this from "GAME" and not amazon (as i get points).

Down to the review, Medal of Honor: Warfighter is probably the most hyped and over pushed game to have been released this year so far and i will have a guess and say will be for the whole year! So even before it came out Everyone and i mean EVERYONE was raving about it and couldn't wait to get their hands on it (the same for me). However, the penny dropped around a week before release when many professional reviewers were being critical of EA in that they hadn't issued "press" copies for review (which is the norm for 99% of games).... OXM for instance said the last time that happened the game in question was a complete failure! Well i should have taken more notice and cancelled my preorder there and then because for the most part this game is shocking on multiple levels.

Firstly lets start with the campaign, it is neither mind blowing in its vision nor in the way it unfolds, besides all this you will struggle to actually understand what is happening.... which over time makes the campaign boring and the only reason you want to complete it would be for achievements or the 5% of people that could actually work out what was happening. When you've installed the HD texture pack the graphics look pretty good (i will grant the game that) but without it, it looks worse than an old PS2 game so make sure you have the space and install it when you get it. But before all this you will have to download and install the MASSIVE patch which came down the track 24 hours after release to fix a whole list of problems (mostly relating to bugs and glitches from both sides of the game) many of which were present in the previous game (MOH 2010). As for good things to look for in the Campaign i would say that the driving/chasing scenes are enjoyable, and the weapons do feel good when your taking down enemies, AI use cover and the difficulties are as you would expect. On normal difficulty i would say it took me 6 hours (but i do like to explore)

Now as a fan of the previous Medal of Honor's campaign and indeed to an extent it's online i was prepared at this point to allow the poor-ish campaign in the new medal of honor to slip into my distant memory as i begun my journey down the multi-player road for the first time. I expected nothing and kept an open mind, here is what i found...

From the off the menu system online, class system and in-game system seems and is far too complex with too many options and boxes on screen (what happened to the easy navigation we got in the last game?), Spawn camping is still a HUGE issue which is made even worse by the smaller maps where everyone seems to camp in some hidden corner just waiting. As an example the fact you can spawn on a friend or "buddy" to use the jargon of the game and then be instantly killed before the screen appears to me sums everything up. The buddy spawn system was suppose to be "safe" and only when your friend is out of fire. LAG is also a major issue in this game both in seeing players move at huge speed across the map before your eyes but also in the fact you can hit someone in the head at point blank only for them to spin around and head-shot you with a pistol all supposedly before you hit them? (for sure the game has only just come out so there's bound to be a few problems but these such problems seem to be game related and not connection/server related)

So the hit detection system just sucks and isn't consistent, which was a problem of the first Medal of Honor game.... so it's nice to know they didn't fix that (i'm being sarcastic for those that don't do humor)! As for the actual maps, they've been designed in a way to increase the amount of combat, every building you go in is designed with multiple ways in and out so you can imagine it when you walk it a room at the same time as an enemy player... it gets "tasty"! As for the kill-streak system, it works well in my view but could have been made more simple by it clearly stating your options onscreen like it did on the previous version. The buddy spawn system works really well and is based on the squad spawn system found on Battlefield 3 but this time you can only spawn on 1 friend as there are no squads. Spawning is an adventure in itself as there is a chance as i stated earlier that you might not survive the experience, with campers and player just waiting around the corner. Graphics online are not the best however, with things at distance looking dodgy at best. Connection issues are also a big problem too with myself and friend being kicked out of several games of death-match.

I could go on and give a full page in-depth review of this game but i'd rather not so here's the breakdown:

PROS: Good campaign graphics (when HD pack is installed), Cinematics look great, all the basics are there for a good multiplayer, frostbite 2.0 looks good (but not as good as on Battlefield 3)

CONS: Both sides of the game are FULL and i mean FULL of bugs and glitches (even post-patch), story-line is dull and hard to follow, online maps are poorly laid out and lack imagination, hit detection online is the poorest I've seen in a game for many years, no safe spawns (something they said they would address after the last game and haven't), code is needed for online play meaning people buying second hand will need to spend more money, whole game lacks imagination and depth, the game feels like it was rushed!

VERDICT: I cannot overstate how much I and my friends were looking forward to this game, we all pre-ordered it and all are sorry we bought it. I've already gone back to BF3 and i'm guessing lots of fellow gamers will do the same. You get the feeling this game was rushed out and wasn't finished for release, hence the Massive patch that has been released but that doesn't address many of the issues, indeed many of the problems are built into the game in such a way i'm guessing they'll never be resolved (much like the last Medal of Honor game) which still to this day is plagued with problems. The campaign is worth a play through and the achievement list will keep you involved but it lacks the killer missions and story that say MW2 had or even the first MOH. The Online side of this game is the biggest letdown with poor map design, lag and connection issues which is made worse by campers at spawn points. Weapons are what you would expect in such a game but nothing to write home about... Probably the worst thing to say about this game is it just feels old... it's certainly not up to todays standards!

My honest recommendation is to avoid this game, certainly for now and wait at least until they have addressed many of the issues i state (if they ever do). This is just a poor game and a HUGE letdown which hasn't been helped by the huge hype that EA themselves continue to push. The 2010 version is better than this, trust me but my honest advice would either be to wait for black ops II or go back to BF3 like i have!

AVOID or wait for the price to drop below £20!
