One of the great pioneers in military simulations returns to gaming as the Medal of Honor series depicts modern warfare for the first time, with a harrowing tour of duty in current day Afghanistan.

Experience modern warfare first hand in Afghanistan
Play online in game modes from the makers of Battlefield
Play as Tier 1 Special Forces or U.S. Army Rangers
Nowhere is safe as insurgents can attack at any time

You'll take control of both ordinary U.S. Army Rangers and Tier 1 Elite Ops Special Forces as you fight enemy insurgents in the most dangerous theatre of war of the modern age. Fun:
Single Player Campaign:

I thought that the single player experience in Medal of Honor is a solid one. The graphics are impressive, the gameplay meets and in some cases exceeds the type of gameplay found in Call of Duty, having both very intense and tactical situations. Having said this, it does have some draw backs. The multiple characters you play with in the missions feel very clinical and underdeveloped. At no point does the game try to make the characters likeable or give them any kind of personality, the same applies to the AI you play with although they do seem to feature some kind of personality. The story line is almost non existant as well. As far as I could make out it was basically an operation in Afghanistan that goes bad half way through, that is pretty much it.

Online Multiplayer:

I actually enjoyed the multiplayer more than the single player. Again it was a solid effort on Dice's part. It features various game modes that you would expect to find in an online FPS including Team DM, Domination and Sabotage. The gameplay is always intense and, for a period of time, does get you hooked in wanting to play more of it. Unfortunately this does not have the same longevity that perhaps recent COD games may have. This is due to limited weapons, maps and to some extent game modes. It does have a certain appeal to it though as it is similar to COD, but not COD. I only say this because personally I have grown bored of the COD franchise for the time being.

The Verdict:

This is by no means a poor game as I have spent a decent amount of time playing the various different aspects of the game and have had a lot of fun playing it. The reason I have given it 3 stars is mainly because it doesn't bring anything new to the table that hasn't already been seen before. I get the impression that the developers have played it safe when creating this game in order to avoid the possibility of creating something rubbish that often comes when trying to create a game that is different. I recommend that fans of FPS's who are interested in this game wait until it has gone down in price to around £20-£25. If a detailed and engaging story is a must have feature for you I would stay away from this title.

As close to the real thing as you can get without sand in your eyes!!
Fantastic well thought out gameplay without the overlong cut scenes, online is even better, once again MOH does not disapoint.

I'm 47 and still enjoy this sort of thing

I too thought I was halfway through the game and getting engrossed and then it ended, I reserved the Tier 1 edition at Game and was told it had extras, so I thought maybe I missed something.

I don't make a habbit of buying games on release and usually wait many many months later, but this seemed special, I have many games far cheaper that seem to go on for so long and give you something for your money.

Graphics and sounds were great and as true to life as you can get, some lovely destination maps with views, some bits of hands on with vehicles too and some sniping, the online game was terribly difficult (well I am a 40s male) but was nothing like Modern War 2 online and not sure anything will be.

Overall I give it a 3 out of 5 for the graphics and gameplay and weapons.

Very average FPS
Bought when it came out. I'll keep it simple.

Single player is good, but short, not much variety in the game though. Multiplayer, a waste of time. Read more
