Format:Hardcover
This is possibly a candidate for the coffee table, in that the many hundreds of diagrams cover all kinds of different mechanisms and mechanical linkages.

It certainly is a source of ideas on how to link things together and there are quite a few schematics showing angles, lengths and suggestions for implementation.

There are many items that are fairly niche, but are interesting if you like mechanical things (like the internal parts of electric motors, conveyor belts, locks, linkages and so on).

You can dip in and out if you fancy just reading about a dozen kinds of chain-driven mechanisms or use it to design (re-use?) something for a particular project.

It's not cheap. The reader feel it is probably overpriced given a lot of the items sourced and re-printed and out of copyright.

Covers all the main mechanisms with different variations on each complete with diagrams to show the workings. Also includes the various formulas for calculations used in mechanical engineering. A very good source book for design engineers and students alike.
