4.0 out of 5 stars mechanics made...mildly understandable 1 Sep 2002
By claire
Format:Paperback
Mechanics has never been my strong point, but this book (like all the others in the series) keeps to the point with clear worked examples and a range of questions from easy to very challenging. A good text book for all maths students regardless of ability.

4.0 out of 5 stars Practical. 6 May 2003
Format:Paperback
It is geared towards the exam syllabus excellently. Learning is dealt with by a page or two of explanations, formulae etc before presenting worked example of questions. This is followed by an exercise, usually many questions of ascending difficulty. This process is repeated until a topic is complete, then follow many exam style questions. Once all topics are completed, an exam paper is given.
All answers are given in the back of the book.
A fantastically gentle learning-curve, step-by-step stuff.
The above is the case for all the books in the series.

Regarding M2 specifically, it is a little dull in content, unchallenging, but without M2 there's no M3, right?
If you've got the desire, this book has everything you need for M2.

take care that the 1995? M2 book has been superseded by the edition published 2003?. the 1995 version is not very well written.
