I was ogling this on my wish list for a long time and was finally given this watch on my birthday. I love the steampunky feel of it, the brass has a lovely look and sheen to it. Its not a really heavy watch which is ideal as it come on a long necklace chain which means i can wear it with a lot of outfits. It a daily wind watch, which isn't difficult as long as you aren't heavy handed and go past the point of wind resistance. it keeps fairly good time except for the one instance i left it on its face and forgot to wind it. It ran out of enough energy to keep it "ticking over" in that position. other than that i have had not a single issue with it and will wear it a lot in the future!

intricate, beautiful, stylish, and vintage steampunk 21 Sep 2012

i read other reviews about this item, one review said this watch was dainty; in size, it is dainty. but it's not exactly light, and not very heavy either. im sure that if you look into the details on this watch, amazon has listed the dimensions and weights somewhere, so measure them out on a piece of paper ad decide for yourself if you would consider that dainty. but that was just to address the other reviews i have read. its just about the same size as an average face on a men's wristwatch.

now for my review.
APPEARANCE: my watch looks pretty much exactly like the picture. a beautiful dull shine on the bronze ring on the outside. and the inner pieces look very shiny and gold/bronze/ i dont know what to call that. the hands, as you can see, are small or thin, so sometimes it can be hard to see the details of their curves in dim lighting, but it is still easy to tell what time it is. the hour, minute, and second hand are very easy to distinguish from one another. it looks beautiful as a necklace, and awesome as a pocket watch. other people in their reviews had claimed worries about their chain breaking if they were to use it as a pocket watch. the chain is small and does appear to be purposed for use as a necklace, so if you were to get this watch as a pocket watch i would recommend using something sturdier, but the chain might hold up. the chain IS made of metal, and i have showered more than 7 times with the chain, and worn it as a bracelet and did not find any green rings on my skin, and the chain is still the same color as when i received it. so i dont think its fake or painted metal. its legit. i probably wouldnt want to get the watch part wet though. it is fun to watch the little pieces move through the glass on the front and back of the watch.

ACCURACY OF TIME: i have had the watch for a week now, and it holds the exact time that i set it to when i set it on the first day i got it. the instructions say to twist the knob every 24 hours; i have twisted it every 21-28 hours, so if you forget to twist it the very second you wake up every day, or you sleep in, the watch will still be fine and hold its accuracy. even if you were to forget to twist it for a whole day, it is very easy to reset the time. the instructions say to twist until you feel tension. at first you will twist and be like "uh, every twist feels tense" you will know what it means by tension because it will feel like it wants to completely stop twisting at all. be firm but very gentle when twisting the knob so that you do not break the tension spring. i have not broken mine and hope to never break it.

Great so far.... 14 April 2012

I bought this watch because I was looking for something with an antique look to it without the conventional cover that most pocket watches have. My first impression after having the watch for the first day is that I have not had to set the time more than once, so the watch seems accurate so far. As far as looks go, it is exactly as pictured in the images except I thought it would be a little bit larger. I am a man so the watch does seem a little small in my hand, but definitely not small enough to be considered dainty. The chain is good quality, and unlike other chains, it is almost strong to allow the watch to be worn as a necklace for a girl (since the oversized necklace seems to be in fashion), especially since the chain does not have a belt clip, it is more similar to a necklace chain. Overall, the watch is beautiful and seems air-tight. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly smaller vintage looking pocket watch.

Beautiful! 3 April 2013

This pocket watch is exactly like the picture. In fact, in person, it looks even better! Real glass face and back and real metal parts and chain. Nothing plastic here. A very charming, product!

Other than that, it works great, keeps time just like it should. All-around wonderful!

WOW! 2 Feb 2013

I've had this on my wishlist for a LONG time! It added it when it was $39.99 and the price suddenly dropped to $21 so I snatched it up!! I have a prime membership and I got the free 2 day shipping. This is one of the nicest pocket watches Ive ever seen for so low a price. I love how the second hand ticks "fast" as in multiple times per second, not just once each second. Its a great classic feature. The aesthetics of this watch are just awesome. I love how it is a wind up so I will never have to replace a battery. Excellent value, especially if you grab it at $21!!

EDIT: After owning this watch for several months and using it now and then, it has become clear that it's quality is pretty low. It loses time, roughly 2 minutes per hour if I had to guess. This is likely due to a low quality spring that needs to be wound every 10 minutes to keep maximum tension. I doubt "real" pocket watches have that problem. Still looks great though.

time is a construct just to keep everything from happening at once. 10 Dec 2013

The watch was a piece of crap. It lost twenty minutes the first night it was wound and then got worse. I could see the flywheel slow down and speed up and then stop. A tap would start it but never for long. A new item should not require repairs when it arrives. It did arrive on time, however, probably because you wanted to get rid of it.
