Purchased this for a 4year old girl. Since receiving it, she very quickly learnt how items fit together, and which tools are required to secure a screw or a nut. Some excellent skills being learnt throught play.
The set comes with plans for ten different models, parts are all colour coded, which together, make it an easy introduction for a child to follow, plus there are supplied stickers which provide the icing on the cake : to a childs delight. And from a parents perspective, everything is included in a tough storage case, ensuring parts aren't lost around the house and allows easy transport to the Grandparents!

My daughter is 9 and was desparate for meccano because her smaller brother who is 6 has some. She has had far more fun than I thought she would have and even though the box is large in comparison to the filling it does fit the made up toys in it. Very girlie and she mixes hers up with her brothers to make different vehicles. Because of colour we can easily separate back to the rightful places. Try and buy at the discounted price as far more representative of its value.
