8 Year old son really had fun with this, it is fiddly enough to mean it is not so easy that it can be complewted too quickly (the plane), proper metal meccano too, far too much of this these days is plastic

This was our first Meccano set, my daughter really likes it. I got it for her when she was 7 and it was quite difficult for her to assemble the peices. She tried it again now she's 9 (yes it took me two years to get round to doing this review !) She almost managed to do it all I had to help her with the fiddly bits. It is quite difficult to assemble but I suppose thats the challenge. And you do get a sense of pride when you complete the model.
The annoying factor is there are ment to be 10 models but it only gives you instructions for 5. The others it just gives the final photo and I think you are ment to figure them out yourselves !

I bought this as a present for my nephew. he loved it. He spent hours making all the different vehicles and didn't need much help from the grown ups. Much to their disappointment. lol
