If you're in the mood for mindless entertainment that will make you laugh spontaneously and not require indepth thinking for hidden meanings, then this is film to watch. Totally switched off from daily life and had a really good laugh. The match at the end is brilliantly funny - especially the commentators Bob and Bob. Up there with Snatch, Lock Stock and Sexy Beast.

Ok, this film won't make you think, and it won't leave you thinking about it for days afterwards. However, it will, if you're anythign like me, leave you crying with laughter. Jason Statham, who has acted very well on Snatch, provides 2 of the funniest moments in film history with his goalkeeping antics. Me and my friends all agree on this. U need to see the football match at the end. The commentary by Bob and Bob is also absolutely halerious, and worth the price itself. The rest of the film is also very good, but the highlights come from the last about 30 mins, in the form of the football match. Classic! a must see!!

I thought this film was fantastic. A really strong cast, full of characters. I thought Vinny Jones was especially good, funny with some sensitive moments and displaying some great football. The rest of the cast were perfectly chosen without exception. The governor, the wardens, the other inmates, each character really shone on screen. A brilliant all-round performance. The football match at the end is immensely enjoyable and commentary is pure genius. If a girl like me (who can't stand/understand) football) can watch and rave about this movie it must have something going for it. Before the other-remake of The Longest Yard comes out I'd watch The Mean Machine first. What can I say? GOAL!
