Mean Girls joins the ranks of Clueless, Bring It On, and Heathers, cunning movies that use the hormone-pressurized high school milieu to put the dark impulses of human nature--ambition, envy, lust, revenge--under a comic microscope. Mean Girls is a shocker in that, upon being cajoled into watching it, I expected to have to endure an hour and a half of pure rubbish. What you actually get is a stylish and extremely funny satire of high school life in America, but which is just as easily transferred to an English context, accurately depicting the trials and tribulations of the various students at school, from the geeks to the "plastics", all the while poking fun at the fads, fashions and funny words teenagers use. Its easy to be carried away in the storyline as Lindsay Lohan slips into the near fantasy world of the superficial "cool" kids, leaving behind her likeable nerdy chums, only to be brought back down to Earth. Rachel McAdams turns in another excellent performance as she did in "The Hot Chick" as the hate figure of the piece, and Lohan is perfect as the new kid on the block. Brilliant.

These films seperatly are excellent and to combine them is a mastermind idea. I loved clueless and when i saw mean girls at the cinema it was so funny and well acted, although it is not one for those who aren't into chick flicks. Clueless was on t.v. the other day and i had forgotten how funny it was until i was reminded and i am so glad i was i have ordered this combo so i never forget it again. Mean Girls is a brilliant one to watch with a group of girl mates on a chick flick fest as it will have everyones enjoyment in mind.

When first sitting down to watch this I didn't expect a lot from it, I thought it would be your average teen movie. How wrong I was. I was hooked from the start and found it very enjoyable to watch.
There are some very good performances in this from Tina Fey, Lyndsay Lohan and Rachael McAdams to name just three.
The special features on the DVD are also very good with a gag reel, trailer, and featurettes among other things.
This film is well worth buying, definately good value for money!
