Lindsay Lohan is just fabulous in this high-school movie. She plays Cady, a girl who has lived in Africa with her parents all her life. At the age of sixteen she is entering the American school systen for the very first time. There are some clever scenes where the school cafeteria is compared to a watering-hole in the jungle. On her very first day she realises that the students separate themselves into different cliques. Although Cady likes the first people she meets, pretty much outcasts, she really yearns to be a glamorous "plastic". In order to maintain both sets of frienships and to seek revenge on the Queen of the Plastics for stealing a boy from her she begins to lead a double life. This is a funny film about bullying and learning to be yourself and accepting other people for what they are.

As for "The Election" well it is black comedy about the American high school system. Matthew Broderick plays Jim, a well meaning teacher whose life has been plodding along in the same way year after year. Reese Witherspoon is terrific as go-getting, hard-nosed Tracy Flick. My problem with this film is the certification. It is a 15 certificate. I know children are exposed to a lot these days but I wouldn't want my fifteen year old daughter hearing "she has a dripping wet p****" . This diaglogue takes place between two male teachers and they are talking about one of their students. Another character, Paul (brilliantly payed by Chris Klein) says that he and his girlfriend f*** and then have a hot tub every day after school. There is also a scene where Jim is watching porn featuring a cheeleader and a jock, we get several close ups of them having sex. I think that is too much for fifteen year olds.

The five stars is for mean girls, i wondnt give 1 star to election. election is boring and frustrating, please dont waste your time watching it. if you like reese witherspoon and especially matthew Broderick DO NOT WATCH, you will hate them after. MEAN GIRLS is brilliant, a film about the ultimate bitches and just make you laugh when u see a character and think, oh i know someone like that. just wish Lindsy lohan would stop doing drugs and make another one. I know they did make a sequel with other characters but its awful. rachel mcaddams has done well after it though, and Amanda syfried
