this is a resonable attempt by "the duke" to jump on the dirty harry bandwagon of the early 70s.It is about a detective who goes after the gangster who killed his best friend.Some violence and slow in the middle but you will see one of the most unusual car chases in a decent climax .The region 1 disc comes with a vintage featurette "McQ:JOHN WAYNE IN ACTION"(6;54),which is one of the best of this type of featurette that i have seen,and a wayne trailer gallery(18:05).

Product arrived on time and well packaged and in good condition. This is a film that I watched years ago and had forgotten about. It's a good all round film with a bit for everyone, with some interesting twists and turns, and action.

McQ is one of the most under-rated Police thrillers of the 70s. It has a good story with fine performances (The wonderfuly villainous Al Liteiri)and features John Waynes last great performances. He a divorced cop with only retirement to look forward to, when his best firend and partner is murdered. But when McQ starts putting the pieces together he finds that the conventional baddies are not the real villains... the guilty party is much closer to home. McQ has lots of twists in the plot that make it above average. I give it 4 stars because I wish there was a little more action in it.

this was a christmas present for my dad, he is a huge john wayne fan and this dvd was brilliant, we had been looking for it for ages. Well worth the wait.
