This really good sealer for seams and pinholes in jackets, tents, and all kinds of fabrics, has an off-beat name which does not reveal its true value. With Seam-Grip, you just identify where a leak is, and paint over it (brush included).

Often I do not need much at any one time, so the big tubes can be wasted, the twin-pack of small tubes lets me open one at a time, the other keeps new until I need it.

The best way to open the tube is to take off the cap and pierce with a in, then put the pin back in and the cap over it. That seals the opening well and keeps the contents usable for a long time.

It's not the first time I have used this product, there is probably none better currently for sealing tent seams or even pinhead-sized holes in flysheets, but potential users need to be aware of a few things.

The instructions recommend setting a flysheet up inside out for easier application to the seams. That would definitely be the most practical way of using the sealer but the design of my tent, and of many others I expect, makes this impossible so I had to lay on my back inside to brush it on. Now the sealer is quite runny, so before long I had it running down my fingers and thumbs - both hands because as the tube became emptier I needed two hands to squeeze it. There is a danger of any dripping onto your face or hair, or your clothing, which I managed to avoid although two or three drips did go onto my lawn. I also felt a little unwell afterwards presumably from the smell of the product in a small space.

To remove sealer from your hands, you are instructed to use isopropyl alcohol. Yeah, well, we've all got some of that in our cupboard, haven't we? After several scrubbings and rubbings with engineering hand cleaner, washing up liquid and lighter fuel my hands still felt sticky. Taking my cue from the instructions again, which recommend dusting fully-cured areas of the seams etc with talcum powder (the sealer takes 12 hours or longer to cure, by the way) I borrowed some from my wife, now my hands are almost back to normal and sweetly scented enough to raise a few eyebrows. Hopefully what is left of the sealer on them will wear off with time.

This is an amazing product, I accidently tore the tent (on the top) my son a was going to use a few days before our camping trip. We used the seam grip sealant ( can be a little messy if not careful) on the 2 inch tear and my son cotinued to sleep in the tent through a very rainy trip and kept very dry with no leaks.
Excellent delivery service and very reasonable priced.

I bought my winter puffa jacket and one week later snagged it on a chair at the cinema making a hole the size of a two pence peice! I thought there was nothing I could do to fix it as the feathers were flying everywhere but my friend suggested this, not only is it easy to use but has so far lasted 3 washes and you can't tell it ever happened. Totally worth every penny.

I found this seam sealant easy to use - by spreading it with my finger. It is flexible so I assume it won't crack. So far, so good.

Works well on my goretex seams but a fiddle to paint on and takes a while to set. The brush is a move in the right direction but you almost have to smear it on so I used my kids PVA glue paster.
