Product Description

McSweeney's Issue 17 will be a brilliantly unusual literary treat, taking the form of a bundle of mail, stacked and rubber-banded. Here you'll find a couple of envelopes containing personal correspondence; an issue of Yeti Researcher, a scholarly journal for homonid cryptozoologists; an issue of Unfamiliar, a twice-monthly journal of experimental fiction (including a poster-size story); a quarterly collection of 10-20 high-quality reproductions of current art, suitable for hanging; and much more.

About the Author

McSweeney's began in 1998 as a literary journal that published only works rejected from other magazines, edited by Dave Eggers. But after the first issue, McSweeney's began to publish pieces that had been written with the journal itself in mind. Soon it was attracting works from some of the finest writers in America and abroad, including David Foster Wallace, Rick Moody, George Saunders, Nick Hornby and Zadie Smith. Today, McSweeney's has grown to be one of America's best and most widely circulated literary magazines. Its compilers are committed to finding new voices, publishing the work of gifted but underappreciated writers, and pushing the literary form forward at all times. Published on a roughly quarterly schedule, each issue of McSweeney's is unique in both design and content.
