3.0 out of 5 stars Good size, but not really a 'travel' towel 17 Mar 2012
Colour Name:Moss Green|Verified Purchase
This is a decent size towel, which is what we were after. There are a couple of things to be aware of though: firstly, the colour is much more 'military' than it looks in the photo - I think calling it 'moss green' is a bit misleading, it's actually quite a dark grey-green - alright for a bloke, but my girlfriend wasn't keen! More importantly than that, it takes ages to dry. We used it for a day on the beach along with a light blue towel from 'you-(probably!)-know-who'. The blue one dried in a couple of hours; this towel was still damp the next morning. It's made of a thicker fabric than the blue one, which is probably why, but for me, a travel towel needs to dry quickly, so next time I'd go for a different brand. Having said that, the size and thickness of this one did make for quite a useful blanket on an early morning bus ride!

We've been using Micro towels for about 10 years simply beacuse of their efficiency and small pack size.

This is undoubtedly the best we've had, not only is it super absorbent and packs small, but it is huge and wraps fully round the amplest of figures, preserving all modesty.

There has been very little if anything wrong with others we've possesed (LifeVenture and TrekMates)- we still use them - but we've had to resort to sewing a couple together in the past to get the kind of coverage the McNett XL provides.

I really like the fact that both the net bag and the towel itself have a clip together strap that means it can be secured to a rail, when no hooks are available, without fear of it ending up on the floor of a campsite shower.

Went for the green one - it's a lovely colour and matches a couple of our tents (yes very shallow, I know!)and reminds me of a long since departed Lichfield ridge tent in the 1970's..... *sob, sigh!*

You do need to follow the instructions and wash and dry the towel before expecting it to get up to maximum absorbency and quick drying performance (several times in my experience; but this can be done on the low setting of a tumbledryer)

I really can't fault this one and may have to buy another

The McNett Microfibre Travel Towel XL, Moss Green is perfect when you don't want to carry too much weight. It folds up to the size of a slim paperback. It's soft and a little like drying yourself with thin chamois leather. It works, and is not really that damp after use. Gentle dark green. Attached loop is at one end meaning it hangs long so you'll need a high hook. Comes in handy zip bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply awesome. 2 Jan 2012
Even though this towel has really really large dimensions, it is so compact when packed together. You need to get used to the material, but it dries quickly and it is comfortable in my opinion. I bought this to bring on a backpacking trip around the world, and I am confident that I will be very happy with my purchase. I think you could even use it as a blanket on a long bus drive because of its soft material and large dimensions. No matter what, it will definetely make an awesome beach towel for a backpacker.
AND the colour is really nice by the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars A new paradigm in towels 12 July 2013

This is an excellent towel, it renders those old-style fluffy ones obsolete. It drys me better, it dries itself after use better, is lighter, and large enough to protect my modesty. Moreover it is of great use on expeditions to dangerous areas -- not only for its compactness but the camouflage green colouring helps me hide from the natives!
