Our favourite family stars in a story so vast, so epic, that that it could only belong on the big screen...until it's released on DVD!
All 8 of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE action figures feature sound chips with dialogue taken from the film.
This Bart figure has an excited expression, which makes sense because of his 4 phrases -
Aaaaah, how, sweet it is!
Wooooooooah, that's a good squishy
I'm outta here
A 5 second burst of laughter.
Bart sits on a 13cm / 5 inch long base which has a speaker on top of it {so no muffled sound} and he requires 2 AAA batteries (not included.)
Bart's arms and head are fully rotational.
Bart is holding an almost spilled cup of soda.
Around Bart's feet is popcorn, a chocolate bar and he has chewing gum stuck on his left shoe and underneath his seat.
The bases of the 4 cinema figures {Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa with Maggie} connect to form one big theatre scene, but Bart looks fine by himself.
Due to the small parts of this figure, it isn't suitable for children under 3.
The other 7 Simpson's movie mayhem figures are -

This set of four contains The Simpsons family at the movies. I was in two minds whether to get it because McFarlane have quite a lot of bad reviews about their merchandise. However I opted to buy because this set was claimed to be better than their other previous efforts. If that's the case then those other products must have been really awful.
If you're a handy type with a good set of mini-tools and a steady painting hand then you can knock this set into shape. Out of the box however it's a dissappointment. Bart's chair doesn't fit into the holes provided for it. So the legs need to be whittled down to fit. Lisa's chair collapsed and needed completely re-gluing. The paint job is ok but any modeller can see it's a mass-produced product and a limited attention to detail has been exercised. From a distance it looks quite cute. Up-close it looks cheap.
The four units have plastic links to fit them together. Some of the links fit nicely, others do not. From the few photos I saw of this compilation before I bought it, I thought it would look good on a bookcase in my front room. Now I have it I've decided it's more suitable for a shelf in my bathroom. It's OK, but it's not really something for a collector. The finish just isn't good enough for that.

This toy looks great. Considering they took a 2d character and made a 3d version, it still looks pretty close to Bart.
My only problem with the toy is, I'm pretty sure the one I got is defective. The chair doesn't fit on the base unless I force it down and glue it. Same for Bart, his feet dont match up with the holes in the base. The battery cover was almost impossible to remove because the screw was stripped out and wouldn't come out. When I finally got the cover off and installed the batteries the button to make him talk only works if you push it about 10X.
I know it only cost $4, but I'm disappointed.
