I bought this to replace my B&D electric one that I'd managed to burn out trimming the hedge! First impressions were the good build quality, easy instructions and ease of starting. I already have mixing bottles for other petrol gardening eqpt so didn't miss there not being one in the package. Once started it got to work in no time and did a great job around the garden on big hedges as well as smaller ones. I'm quite agile and reasonably strong so didn't feel any effects of the weight but possibly a smaller person might find it a struggle after a while. Because of the anti-vibration handles I experienced no white-finger or vibration injuries which I had done when borrowing a neighbours trimmer last year. Overall, for the price..a great purchase!

If you are lucky enough to get a good one, then this should cut your hedge ok. However, although mine would start, it would only run up to speed with the choke jammed on, so the probability is that the carburettor fuel mixture was set to run too lean. I understand that this is common with 'budget' trimmers, due to their difficulty in meeting EU emission standards. So I have returned mine from whence it came; disappointed.

Never worked right. Was hard to start from the beginning, no amount of oiling of the blades or heat applied to motor pre start up worked. Ended up selling as scrap for £15 6 months after I bought it.

This rating was to high this item was advertised as refurbished but as you can see from emails this was not the case the machine was also over 6 years old which also was advertised plus the serial was also scratched off yet this is still being advertised I have sent this back and I am still waiting amazon have helped me and I thank you for this but the advert is so misleading
