Product Description

INCLUDES: Key To My Heart Forensic pathologist Dr Iain McCallum examines the body of a Vietnamese banker that has washed ashore. Later, he has a sexual encounter with a female police officer. When she is found murdered, McCallum performs her autopsy and begins investigating her death. His involvement with the police investigation becomes problematic when he becomes the prime suspect. Sacrifice When the body of a well-known baker and supposed loving family man turns up at the bottom of a flight of stairs inside his shop, it looks like an accident. McCallum carries out a post mortem and discovers that the family has lied about the circumstances leading to the mans death. Touch McCallum carries out a post mortem on a young Brazilian prostitute found dead with signs of having been scalded. McCallum finds that she died from a superbug bacterial infection and that she had previously suffered from two drug-induced heart attacks. Dead But Still Breathing A killer with a grudge against McCallum attempts to exact revenge with a combination of poison and threatening telephone calls. City Of The Dead McCallums absence from a crime scene results in Maloney working an extra shift, even though it means she will have gone without sleep for more than 48 hours. When she attempts to drive to the crime scene, Maloney strikes an elderly man with her car. Believing herself guilty of death by dangerous driving, Maloney does not try to defend herself against the charge. McCallum, however, works feverishly to find evidence indicating Maloney was not responsible for the mans death. Harvest A mutilated body is found in a sewer, and then more turn up all with graze marks and organs missing. McCallum is soon convinced that a serial killer is at work. Dead Mens Fingers Clare Gilmour has moved on from her stint in pathology and into hospital work. However, when Clare dies suddenly it is revealed that she is pregnant, McCallum finds himself under suspicion when Clare names him as the father of the child in her diary. Running On Empty Two bodies are sent to pathology. Although both victims suffered from anorexia, nothing more suspicious is found. McCallum though looks more closely after they are broken into and vital samples are stolen. Beyond Good & Evil Dr. Gallagher goes on the hunt for the necrophilia-like murderers of two women who have kidnapped his girlfriend. Will he get to her in time, or will she become their latest victim?

5.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't dated at all 12 Jan 2012

Really liked the McCallum series - I thought there were more than two series, but it just seemed that way.
The stories are well acted, directed and produced and the characters engaging. The stories are tightly scripted, so you don't feel like they are stringing them out.
It doesn't seem to have dated at all. Enjoying seeing them again after seeing them on TV ages ago. Would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly gripping! 30 April 2010
If you're a fan of the genre, this is a must buy. It's story lines are intricate, and edgy. John Hannah is brilliant in this, and needless to say, any fans of Rebus would thoroughly enjoy this to!

5.0 out of 5 stars Before csi 18 April 2012

British crime drama character driven not special effect. The grim dark morgue perpetual dripping water gives a great atmosphere tell stories in

We have only got through episode one so far but first impressions are very good. The interior sets probably lean a bit more towards the real working environment than the space age style pathology facilities increasingly featured in other more recent series. UK TV producers seem to be competing with American crime dramas in having slick sparkling labs.and instant results at the drop of a scalpel.

I loved this show when it was first shown on TV and it has stood the test of time. This could be repeated now and wouldn't appear dated at all. The characters are believable and interact very well and the plotlines are well scripted and very well acted. Would definitely recommend this box set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling!!!!! 30 Jun 2012
As I had just completed Series 1 & 2 Of New Street Law and throughly enjoyed it I searched to see what other series John Hannah had done and I found McCallam and after reading the reviews decided to send for it.

I was not at all dissapointed, it really was brill and I watched it all in a very short time.

Discs 1 to 8 were really exciting, and as John Hannah and Zara Turner both left in disc 8, I really feel the series should have ended there

Disc 9 was dreadful, he new characters were bad, it did nothing at all for the series, and when I do watch it again I will never watch disc 9.

Possibly John Hannah wanted out and the producers wanted to give it a try with
Nathaniel Parker and Eve Pope, it would never have worked they were terrible.

I would describe the series as slightly similar to Waking the dead, but much better.

Well worth watching.

PHulme.
