This classy entry in the Soul Of Chogokin series is no mere color variation or slight retooling--this is a totally new Mazinger Z. It's slightly bigger and taller than the GX-01 released back in 1998, bringing the toy into perfect scale with not only the recent Aflodai, Minerva X, and other female robot Soul of Chogokin, but also the GX-02R Great Mazinger! GX-01R is mostly diecast, and entirely impressive! Comes with a slew of option parts led by a slick, re-sculpted Jet Scrander that puts the old version to shame; there's also a Hover Pilder and Jet Pilder, Iron Cutter and Rocket Punch arms, Missile Punch (to launch from a nicely detailed belly bay greatly improved from the GX-01's), a display base and more!

Mazinger Z was my entry level into the Anime genre (though it wasn't called Anime at the time). I used to have a plastic Mazinger toy when I was 3 years old. Yes I remember it well. This toy is quite expensive but I would've paid double for it. The metal construction is sturdy. You can move limbs about without worrying about it breaking. Comes with other weapon accessories. This product brings me great childhood memories.

I have to say I bought this one, because my four years old child is just hooked by this 30-year-ago anime, that of course as enjoyed as crazy also! And was quite looking forward to receive this toy as much as my son.
This one is just great and I would say amazing, they got almost every detail, and my son i s enjoying great time playing with this one! but careful! has a lot of plastic parts that easily could get lost and although is made of metal if fails a lot could get broken in leg joints, at least my son's has got! but guess what, he doesn't care!
I guess I have to buy one for me!
