The Trials are over, or are they and what were they all about in the first place? Is WICKED good? Who survives? Do they get their memories back? How much of what Thomas and co have been told is the truth and how much is lies? You will find answers to these questions, and more, in this final instalment of the trilogy. The sense of peril builds as the Gladers have to fight against enemies old and new as it builds to an explosive ending. As with the previous books there is relentless action and violence, which at times makes 'The Hunger Games' appear tame in comparison. The best way to read this trilogy is back to back as it is really one long story split into 3 volumes. Dashner has created a believable if brutal fantasy world and in 'Death Cure' he has brought it to satisfactory and even unexpected conclusion. Admittedly I found some of the main characters irritating from time to time, but I did care about them and now I wonder just how the future of the survivors will work out. Well worth the time I spent reading it and I wonder what this author will come up with next.
