5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, British/US contrasts humor! 11 Aug 2011
This is one of the funniest books I have ever read and I go back to it whenever I want to have a good laugh. I wish they had it in Kindle version though.
The book is about a British novelist who has lost his muse and is trying to write his next best-seller. He lives in Los Angeles and this is all you need to know: a Brit in LA! That is the real story here.
Every person I lent this book to has loved it.
It's funny, witty and the ending is.... you'll see!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Master Piece 5 April 2004
By dennis liu - Published on
This is absolutely an fascinating book with gripping stories and amazing characters in the capital of the entertainment universe-Hollywood. It is a must-read and can't put it down kind of exciting book which, after only turning the first a few pages, you want to definitely find out the ending to all these vividly illustrated individuals. An unexceptionally detailed book that let you peek into the inner world of those who try to survive and prevail in the mystic world of Hollywood.

This book I first bought about 15 years ago.
It is funny, deep and the story is fantastic.
A british writer in LA with writer's block and in search of a story. Cultural intellectual clashes and a great insight into the modern world as we know now taking shape back when the story was written.
I recommend this book to everyone I know.
