Really fun little game, ideal for all the family. Sets up in about a minute and plays in around 20 minutes.

Each player gets a neat little Lego like pirate figure and a hand of cards (numbered 1 to 7). Each pirate is placed randomly on the board with the shark chasing them. Then each player selects a numbered card from their hand and reveals this simultaneously. Everyone then moves their pirate to the furthest position away from the shark in numerical order (starting with the lowest number revealed). If two or more players lay the same numbered card in the same round, then their pirate stays where it is. After all cards in the round have been played, the pirate closest to the shark 'Gets Bit', and losing a limb (the exception is only in the 1st round when the shark does not bite). Play continues until one pirate loses both arms and legs, that player is out of the game. The game ends when there are only 2 pirates left. The pirate furthest away from the shark is deemed the winner!

So far everyone I've played with has really enjoyed this quick simple game. Kids will especially love pulling the limbs off the pirates.

I purchased this game after seeing it on TableTop on the Geek and Sundry channel on YouTube and it is a fun and fast game to play with friends. It doesn't require a lot of set up but provides a lot of entertainment.

Fun Game 11 Sep 2013

We are a board game family. Love playing games. Our youngest is 6 years old, and we have only few games he can really play (Favorite is Feed the Kitty). I was looking to update out board game library with something he can participate and learn. This game teaches you the concept of selecting a low or high numbers and as a result of each turn organize robots from low to high number. A bit hard for the young age to decide the strategy involved in selecting specific cards to use, but nonetheless it is a lot of fun. Also, the other reason I got this game is the fun our youngest has to take a part the robots during the game. Makes you wonder if he strategically selects to lose just so he can do that.
The more players there are, the better in my opinion.

Last, side note of no importance. I didn't check the size of the box before ordering. Expected a large box for some reason, received a tiny one which fits better in our shelf.

Very fun game - a little different than most 24 Jun 2014

We were looking for a new family board game - we're so tired of Monopoly and Life as well as that type of game. We played this at a relative's house and enjoyed it so much we bought our own. I think boys especially, will enjoy the idea of their game piece losing an arm or leg to a shark. It's easy to learn, quick to play, and a nice change from the standard board games out there.
OMG SHARK! Swim away! 30 Sep 2014

Another great easy to learn game. This deluxe version comes in a beautifully designed tin box that holds all the figures and cards together. Also has better artwork on the cards which is much appreciated once you've seen the first edition. Also there are stickers that decorate the otherwise plain and boring looking figures. I suggest using a bit of scotch tape to hold the head sticker in place because they tend to peel off on their on at the ends. The game is great with max 6 players. Easy to learn, and honestly it's fun with friends you know really well. You will feel the pressure when you are in front of the shark trying to get away. If you want to know the gameplay it's best finding a youtube video on the review of the game. I'll explain it short hand, basically all players play a card that is numbered 1-7. After everyone picked and revealed their number card, any ties don't move their position, then lowest number (who has not tied with anyone else) moves to the highest number moving last. After all positions are moved, person who is in front of the shark, gets bitten, loses a limb, then moves up in front of the line, and next round starts again. This process repeats until there are only two players left and the player who is in the front of the shark, automatically loses. It's great for all ages and actually fun to play with a mixed aged crowd. Most card/board games play better with similar skill/age level players, but this is one game where age/skill level players are not required to have a lot fun.

Great game 9 Jan 2014

We purchased this game for our 7yr old son for his birthday. This is a very simple game that even our 3 year old plays with us.

For Christmas we purchased the standard game for our sister. Our son loved the game and so did the rest of our family that was in town for Christmas. When my son had his birthday (3 days later) he requested Get Bit. I looked it up on Amazon and for just a dollar or so more we were able to get the tin. When buying the game I didn't know it came with Pirate stickers which was a very pleasant surprise.

After assembling all of the characters (I think their are some additional stickers for expansion characters) we began to play. The cards were a lot better than the standard game and a lot of them matched up with the stickers we laid out on the characters.

Pros:
Better Game storage (Tin container)
Better art on the cards
The hands even move on the robots

Cons:
Panda deck of cards didn't match with any of the stickers or characters we had
No stickers for the shark

Love this game. It is worth owning as a quick filler game that takes 10-20 minutes to play.
